Welcome back to Airbnb With Candace Kee! Season 1 Episode 2!
In this week’s episode we talk about insurance, of which everyone in Canada needs to have!
There are different types of airbnb insurance.
The Host Protection Insurance program provides primary liability coverage for up to $1,000,000 per occurrence in the event of a third-party claim of bodily injury or property damage related to an Airbnb stay. … The treadmill breaks and the guest is injured when they fall off.
The Airbnb Host Guarantee provides protection for up to $1,000,000 to a host for damages to covered property in the rare event of guest damages above the security deposit or if no security deposit is in place. If you don’t have a security deposit then you need to go through their insurance company which in my experience was pretty slow to get back to me… Not all insurance will cover damage or loss to property caused by a guest renting your space.
What’s important to not about this is if you rent by the rooms, like I do at my airbnb’s, you have to KNOW and be able to prove (with photo evidence etc.) who did the damage if you have multiple guests in your home at the same time.
